Visited with @mookster a few weeks ago (Wow; I’m actually uploading it in relatively fast time here!). This is one I had wanted to do for a while; and with it being in the arse end, of a part of the country I rarely venture to, it was one I really wanted to do as it isn’t a bad little mooch.

I collected Mookie in the car and we made the 2 and a half hour drive in utter torrential rain; honestly, it was bad. Once inside we were able to do the main building and a few other ones, but a couple were sadly sealed.

The whole place stank of rotting duck feathers; which was interesting…

The Norfolk Feather Company was one of the oldest in Diss and its roots can be traced back 90 years. It traded from these premises since 1993 but announced its closure in April 2021; finally closing in October 2022. This closure was blamed on both Supply Chain Issues, Bird Flu and of course ultimately; Covid…

Was nice to see a couple of bits here that I missed back in April, so definitely worth a second bite of the cherry for me.

A nice little mooch this. There was a group of stoners smashing up the offices when I visited here in August, so had to cut my visit short. I did the best parts first luckily.

Why? Did they approach you or something?

They did when I first arrived wondering why I was there, they were in the outbuildings then, but they stayed out of the way after. Was a while before they started smashing stuff, those offices were all that I really had left to actually look at when they started. I didn't fancy disturbing the five of them whilst solo for a couple more shots haha

Nice report, honestly though how bad was the smell ? my OH isn't great with dodgy smells and while it's a good one for us to explore may leave it if there's a high chance of being sick involved

It wasn't too bad just a markedly different smell to the normal damp smells you experience.
