General - The Wrekin Shropshire, found an un usual building

I went up the Wrekin today for a walk and decided to go down the rear side where the old shooting range is, discovered some areas that (by the looks of things have not been used or even walked on in years )

I am struggeling to find what this contraption was.

As we carried on walking we came across a Pool with a water facility and what looks like an access to getting onto boats ?

Not really anything to put in a specific area but these were all new findings for me so it ended up in here, would like to find out what the things did.

Those are rifle range 'Butts'. People stand behind there and raise the targets up and down, count the holes and scores etc.

I suppose that does make sense with the area and all that but they dont look like they have been used for a long time!

They call them Bisley Screens, As Oxygen Thief correctly said they hold the targets then they are raised to be shot and lowered to be scored without the scorer getting shot

I've actually been here but it was before I got into urbex and photography so unfortunately I never took any pictures. I really regret that now and should return sometime.

Hi jockey wheel ,they are a pulley system to raise and lower large shooting targets actually used the very ones in 1967 when I trained in Shrewsbury cheers bill
