Got this done a while ago no doubt inspired by Tarkys brill report and stunning pics ( thats a hard act to follow ) i have been meaning to get back to try and get some better pics and a longer ladder to get up the waterfall but have never got round to it . Still plan on getting back but need the summer to get up that waterfall anyway this was our attempt at it , Arriving early doors on a saturday morning with shorts and trainers we slithered under the drain flap from the river Don to gain access
looking back to the start
pic from first manhole had ratchet strapped an extendable ladder to the trolley cart had brought rope as well this came in handy climbing down to the start , moving on upstream through the grimy RCP we went under the canal then arrived at the slide
then looking down the slide
we diddnt walk up the slide ( not sure you could ) but went up the side
some nice brickwork in the pipes as well as the slide
apologies for the blurry pic but there was a fair dash of colour down here lol some black tar or pitch stained the manholes
we took it in turns dragging the trolley cart it was a long walk this drain
off shot to the left which we diddnt have time to investigate , then on to the main chamber
ladder going straight up
at this point we climbed out to see were we where
next pic looking back on where we had climbed out it was extremely well hidden
at the top of the concrete spillway we found a smaller diameter pipe but diddnt go up it
well after a quick nosy around and getting our bearings it was back down the ladder and began the long trek back to the outfall , A long one this drain but that final chamber with the waterfall made it all worthwhile cheers for viewing
