Information: The Tyne Bridge Tower is a tower block that resides at the foot of the Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne, near the medieval St Mary's Church and The Sage. The 15 floor building was used by the Inland Revenue until June 2005.

In March 2011 work started on its demolition. Local construction and property consultant Summers-Inman is project managing demolition of the Tower, supported by multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy Cundall Johnston and Partners.

Originally built in the 1960s, Tyne Bridge Tower was used by the Inland Revenue until June 2005 and is now under demolition as part of the Gateshead Quays renovation. This site boasts unobstructed panoramic views over Newcastle and the River Tyne. The first visit was with Lucid shortly after demolition work commenced, followed by a group visit a few nights before my birthday. Adventure, good company, chinese lanterns, home brewed cider and a surprise birthday cake made it a memorable night. Thanks to all in attendance. If you're planning a visit, you best be quick.

06. My favourite bridge on the River Tyne, the Swing Bridge. The bridge has a 281 feet (85.6 m) cantilevered span with a central axis of rotation able to move through 360° to allow vessels to pass on either side of it:
