UMIST / Hulme Flumes Little Brother - Manc
As my last trip to the Medlock was cut short by the missus demanding I get my arse back home
sharpish.. I decided to arrange to jump back in and have a quick wander, ably assisted by
Nickindroy, Marsden1002 and TomSherman.
After a quick pint in the Lass'o'Gowrie we headed down to first of the nights quarry, UMIST.
Originally reported by Siologen a few years back, this is essentially a split concrete box section
with relatively few redeeming features, still it was worth a wander.
looking back towards the infall
and down towards the outfall
the concrete twin bores of the outfall
after running the gauntlet of two angry swans, we arrived at..
the entrance to Hulme Flume's Little Brother
HFLB is a Victorian built brick cso with a few nice features
the first one being, the brickwork
and the other being penstock P14
rusted controls, although these don't seem to directly control the penstock
whats that smell..? mmm, sewer fresh
meanwhile in the Medlock, it was going dark and I was staving, so time to gtfo
but not without one last shot
Cheers to the usual suspects for a decent little wander, and thanks for looking
