The restoration of Victoria Baths has been widely photographed... at least from the inside.
There are monthly open days: Victoria Baths - Manchester
Recently there was an opportunity to get on the roof and up to the clock tower.
Visited with Yaz. At this stage the clock faces were not in, they have since been placed.
We discovered that a headtorch, accidentally bumped, makes a very effective clapper, and had
a tense wait to see if anyone (well, mainly security) had noticed the bell strike once at 4.06am.
Beautiful copper dome
Whilst up there I realised that there was somewhere which would give an even better view...
Returned with Scott just as the sun was rising over Manchester. This crane is not
very high compared to others in town, I guess 100ft, but to me anything over 5'9"
is high so it's totally down to Scott’s encouragement that I made it to the top.
Plus, having bottled it 1/3 way up Sarah Tower last week had to redeem myself.
The view we climbed for
Holding on and listening to jet thrusters, as the jib gently swayed
