History
Walkley Clogs is a clog factory. The company was created by Frank Walkley in 1946. The main styles of clog manufactured at the time were the Safety Boot Clog, Derby and the Bar Clog. Followed by the Slipon styles much further down the time line. In 1978 Frank Walkley bought out the famous Maude Clog Sole Works in Hebden Bridge which employed over 100 employees. Walkley Clogs still used the old style machines for turning the wooden clog soles and manufacturing the icons. To this day Walkley Clogs produce over 40+ styles that offers to make up custom made Clogs in any style or colour - many are still used in cat walks around the world. Sadly I don’t know when this factory/ museum was shut down but it’s been many years since it’s been in use due to so many reports from years back.

As always, leaving the house at ungodly hours to ensure the risk of getting caught was low. Travel there was eventful and definitely opened my eyes to how hilly England can be ! On arrival, I was pleased to see that the building wasn’t surrounded by a lot of residential homes, a few businesses to the left of the building but they where hidden behind gates & walls. Getting in was pretty easy, a few stacked items later (I’m short as hell) and I was in ! Although the outside of the building was decorated by broken windows, to my suprise the internal building wasnt to ruined by little yobs... just a lot of pigeon poop. Walking around i proceed to believe I was just in a clog factory but little did I know that my inner child was about to be released...
Really enjoyed this explore. And I hope ya’ll enjoy a few snaps of the building!
Thanks
