Report - Walkley Clogs - Mytholmroyd - September 2014

I've been wanting to see this for a few years, but have always not had the chance due to the security who look after being quite on top of things.Having driven and walked past it numerous times with r lass, I noticed it was open again and a few days later I returned with a picture making device.

Once owned by F Walkley, Walkley clogs is still is one of the UK's leading maker of clogs, they still produce them at a site up the road. It later operated as a heritage centre and retail outlet.

It is the very place I mentioned on CS' thread a while back

It once had a proper Santa's grotto and some epic old school
Gear in there, shame to see it in such a state nowadays

What a gorgeous building, I love the tree coming out of the stack. I have spent hours sitting at ball ponds just like the one here waiting for my littluns 30 minutes to be up, I can still smell the aroma of sweaty feet 15 years on

My business studies qualifications only go up to AS level, but even I could safely say if you need a soft play area and all that other crap to try and shift clogs (who the hell even buys clogs these days??) your days are numbered...

So you say they still make clogs??

Joking aside they were once one of the biggest clog factory's around, there was another Huddersfield way many years ago but that's long gone

I do own a pair, but I certainly didn't buy them from new!! And they are a curio only.

TBF after what happened to Raddog in Snobs a couple of years ago wearing them on a night out in Brum might not be such a bad idea...
