My second backdated post takes me up Wenallt Hill on the way back from a gig - it would have been rude not to have had a mooch around!

History
"
Anti-Aircraft Operations Rooms (AAORs) or Gun Operations Rooms (GORs) as they were known during the second world war owe their origin to the Air Defence of Great Britain (ADGB) organisation of the late 1930’s. (The name change occurred during the 1942 re-organisation of AA Command with both titles being in common usage).
Later the former AAOR became the main BT war headquarters for Wales. The distinctive curved glass galleries were stripped out, and new dormitories, air conditioning, canteen etc., were installed in the 1970s but the work was abandoned before completion and the bunker is now disused although the adjacent BT radio site remains in service." Nick Catford - SubBrit

The bunker now lays hidden in the thick treeline, in a major state of vandalism after sustatining fires throughout.

Is there anything like asbestos or black mold in there, and did you wear any sort of mouth protection when you went inside, me and some friends scoped it out recently but did you enter via thr vent shaft into the actual bunker, we want to return better prepared so just wondering if its necessary 👍

It's been several years since I visited, at which time the ground level bricked up entrance was broken through (believe its since been rebricked), Given when it was built etc Asbestos is more likely to be present than not, although given as how it was burnt to a crisp inside way back when I visited and appears to have been torched again since then from these images I'd say the threat is negligible. Especially if you avoid touching any of the walls or ceilings.

As for mould unless water has found a way in since I last visited, and if these shots are anything to go by it hasn't, then your fine on that front..
