I have visited this place about six years ago. But just fancied a mooch around and I was pondering on were to go so took the half hour drive to it. It's a bit worse now than what it was. Not that much to it. A couple of small buildings with some old bits dumped outside. The main reason I wanted to go again though is the old complete dragline left behind. You don't see too many of these abandoned, so always worth seeing.
History on the pits is really vauge. Lots of large pits, with the biggest being a hundred acres. Seems like some extensive gravel excavation went on here on the 50s/60s. These buildings must have been from the last of the quarrying operation here before they packed in all together at a guess in the nineties. The area has been planted up and some of the trees are quite mature now. The older pits are now used for fishing and water sports.

The main entrance and site gates.

There are really three bits,to the buildings. One long knackered shed, this bit with what I thought were kilns originally but not a hundred per cent sure on that at all.

What are these things. I tam thinking just more storage than anything.

Had this pinned for an age but still never made it here. Nicely covered it does look a fun place to mooch
Should have popped in whilst at Bungay. Not worth a trip specifically, but deffo worth a look if near. And certainly worth it for a selfie in the dragline.
