Not great but if its all you have it can work in decent light conditions

Scour eBay or your local charity shops, they might have something for 150 you may possibly be able to get a decent bridge camera, easy to use like p & s but with some of the features of a dslr

Something to note with regards using an iPhone, you can get apps that allow you to do much longer exposures, think there's a few free one's which aren't that bad.
