We had a mooch round this place last year while in Stockport for Dodge Hill shelters.

Dean print was founded by Yorkshireman Joseph Dean who initially set up a travel agency – Dean & Dawson – in 1871. Joseph eventually bought a printing press as he recognised the potential of being able to produce his own brochures for the travel company. This lead him to establish, in 1890, the company that still bears his name today. The printing business steadily grew and soon a second factory was required. This was half a mile away from the first. During this period Mr Dean became friendly with one of the pillars of Stockport’s hatting industry – Mr Giles Atherton. Together they went New York and were offered the patent rights to hat leather stitching machines. From this the company also began making hat leathers and a wide variety of other leathers. This business was run from a third factory in Stockport. Two of the factories were sold which enabled land to be bought and in 1920 building work commenced on a new 47,000 sq. ft. factory without having to borrow any money. The total cost of this factory was £21,000.
The business was acquired by Manchester Printers Group in July 2022 and was relocated to a new site on the Lawnhurst Trading Estate. However, recent issues at the parent group – with multiple connected companies entering insolvency – resulted in Deanprint being put up for sale, sadly no buyer materialised and the company went into administration.

This place was very easy to access and while there's quite a lot of stuff left behind to have a look at we didn't find it the most photogenic of explores. It was definitely worth a look while in Stockport anyway.

Goods delivery to the factory.

Love this, thankyou.
Do you know if this place is abandoned?
I'm heading that way soon.

In answer to your question I have no idea. Not been back to the area since tbh. You'd have to give it a go. If it's a fail there's always the air raid shelters to try as well which are a great.

Such a shame they get smashed up, I was in a building a few weeks ago and other "explorers" came in and live streamed smashing it up, I slipped out before they saw me, this doesn't seem to happen as much in Europe as here.

Nice little explore this, I took the most dangerous and difficult way in and then noticed the front door was open on my way out :face
Lost count of the number of times we've done similar. Noticed the open door straight away here though.
