Setup exhibition registration systems 1000s of times between here and Olympia in the late 80s/early 90s...sad to see it in this state but great pics & explore

Oh memories! I worked in ec for quite a few years, the floor in ec1 drops (well used to!) to create a swimming pool, it was used every year for the boat show. Some of those “boiler rooms” you saw would have been the controls for the hydraulics to drop the pool top and the tanks to fill it up, there’s also service tunnels under ec2, containing buzz bars, all the electrics for the stands in the exhibitions were run up from there through ducting in the arena floor to power the stands. Those halls were always empty like that when no shows or exhibitions were in residence, every single show was built from scratch, then completely cleared at the end.

Earls Court Two

In response to the drastic need to increase exhibition space, Earls Court Two was constructed at a cost of £100 million. The barrel-roofed hall links with Earls Court One and the hall's 17,000 sq m floor is entirely column-free. The hall was opened by Princess Diana on 17 October 1991 for the Motorfair.

Little work has been done on this side yet, not as interesting as the main arena but still well worth a look. Climbing up the sign was comedy gold!
