The History (kind of):
Greenlands was formerly the Fiery Fred, "a sort of Yorkshire cousin to Manchester’s Fiery Jack" someone stated online. It opened around 1982 and it shut around 2002. Although another source states 2008 as the date of closure and that it was converted into a supermarket. A planning application was apparently approved in 2021 to convert the building into four apartments, with the roof being raised, an infill extension added, and new windows and entrances installed... It's safe to say that all the information is either incorrect or none of this has taken place, as the site looks like it was shut 25 years ago and has been left ever since.
The Explore:
Access was fairly easy, but it was clear it hadn't been visited by many. There had been some stripping of the place and there were few signs of vandalism, although you couldn't really tell due to the insane level of decay. The pub looked like it was straight out of the 90s with curtains and netting still in place. The bars with stained glass details were pretty nice, but most of the remains consisted of furniture and random items in the living quarters.
Thanks for taking a look!
