Visited with Atomic on a delightfully sunny September afternoon, complete with good ol British showers. Anyway it was a very relaxed little wander and although we didn't have high hopes for the place, it did reveal a few little gems among the mostly dark and trashed rooms. Mainly the plant room and the workshop area. Unfortunately, despite how hard we tried, we just couldn't find the Colonel's secret recipe, so that was a total fail and let down :mad

Some little bit of history, shamelessly stolen from the tinterweb!

Grampian Country Foods was a Scottish-based meat processing company, now part of the UK division of Netherlands-cooperative, Vion NV.
Established in 1980 by a Scottish farming family, Grampian expanded quickly through pan-UK acquisition. Moving its headquarters to Edinburgh and then Leeds, it became the UK's biggest pig meat processor. Its food production unit produced own-brand products mainly for the UK's largest supermarket chains. Faced with financial difficulties from the late 1990s, it was sold to Vion in January 2008. This particular site specialised in poultry processing and produced various poultry produces for customers such as KFC and many of the supermarkets own brands before it closed in 2008.
