Ok if its anything of any value it "should" have a hall mark of sorts.

However its filthy, Leave in in some brown sauce for a few hours then clean it, if its still not clean enough either repeat it with fresh brown sauce or leave it to soak for a couple of hours in cheap and nasty full fat coke.

That should clean it up :)

Harpic toilet cleaner should also do it,might dissolve it though if left on for to long :)

Ive never tried that but my nan use to make us clean her horse brasses and brass plates with brown sauce lol
Nver heard of brown sauce i must admit,the harpic x1o stuff cleans crap off of exhaust downpipes if left of for 5 odd mins and rinsed so it may clean this up

Poundland special is harpic,and yes thats whats in it,if left for a few mins on stainless pipes cleans years worth of crud of them
