Hello again.
This is Holy Trinity church in Bordesley/Digbeth in Brum. This one had been on my wish list for years and years but there was never any way in. Sat on the number 6 one day something caught my eye. It was a window big enough to get through but no way i was gomma get to it , but someone had so it was worth a walk around to see what else had chnged.

Some history......
Holy Trinity church is a grade 2 listed building sat on top of a hill in Digbeth. Built between 1820 and 1822 by architect Francis Goodwin at a cost of £14,235.
The cost of building was funded by a "subscription of the inhabitants " together with a grant from the Parlimentary Commissioners . It was consecrated on January 23rd 1823 and de-consecrated in the 1960s, closing in 1968. The graveyard was closed in 1873 but some family graves were maintained until 1925. Graves were removed to make way for what is now camp hi;; island and surrounding roads.
After closure in 1968 it was to be used as an arts center but this never happened in the end. It was later used as a homeless shelter called The Trinity center up untill 1999 and has been left in its current state ever since .
Was listed on the market in 2014 for a residential convertion at the pocket change price of £3 million .
One really interesting thing i learned while researching this one was that the congregation had a cricket team which , bored with not being able to play during winter months , founded a little football team called Small Heath Alliance , later to become the mighty (lol) Birmingham City FC.

There is a much more concise history on wiki , especially if you like the religous aspects

The explore.......
As i said above, access was spotted but there was no way i was doing that. 10 years ago maybe but now, not a chance. Eventually another way was found , only slightly easier but doable. Came here a couple of times with various members of the dee explores crew and im glad to get it off my wish list. Iv always loved this building from the outside with its little gargoyles and spires , and the inside is just as interesting. The ground floor is storage , looks like the current owners just dumped a load of junk there, and a floors ans stairs have been added over time and the original walls have been boarded over to acomodate the homeless shelter . There is however a lot of the original features all over the place. One room , only a tiny little room with a piano in , actually took my breath away for a second , it contained something that you cannt really appreciate from the outside and its up there as possibly the best thing iv ever seen in situ while exploring. Lets just say if you like a good window, keep reading .
