You are right actually mate, I should have taken a deep breath before I replied to be honest... I just get fed up of him mouthing off at people like that, starting a comment with Fuck Off with your idiotic views is no way to start a conversation... I do think its a little naïve of him to compare a specialised UE forum with a national newspaper though but hey that's just my opinion

I have too admit i"m not a great fan of saturated colours, but you definitely receive bonus points for not selling out too the "Daily Mail" or being a "Hypocrite" .........respect

Not only do you have a totally illogical view on selling the photos you seem to have a totally illogical view over insulting each other too.

Ive been selling my photos where appropriate since day one. Ive always defended people doing the same. If youre selling photos of inappropriate stuff then il give you an earful but that's different. If you post it on the net in public view it can go in the press as far as I'm concerned. Its no different. I don't see why people think they are somehow above the general public just because they read this website. Its open to all to see.

Don't call me an attention whore then ;-) Apologie accepted. Id rather be civil over it. Quite why I'd turn down a few quid to go towards fuel money or all the other costs I have getting these photos I don't know. Even if I use it to buy beer it's still fine! Just because some guy pops up and says he will give me a few quid if he can use my photos to make himself a few quid it doesn't mean I'm suddenly just exploring for the money. Theres really no negative. My photos are out there for people to see. If I didn't want people to see them they wouldn't be out there. You seem to be in some sort of illusion that this forum is an unseen secret that only explorers will see. Places posted on here get thousands of views from the general public. That's why we have a non-public section. They may get more on a newspaper website but when the whole idea of posting stuff on here is for others to look at it then why do you think it's bad that more people will see it? It's a total contradiction to the point of posting up your photos in the public sections on here.

At the end of the day. Im one of the most experienced explorers around and I've seen it all play out many times now. You can disagree or call me names if you want but it ain't going to change my oppinion.

As you are such an experienced explorer and you have been using this forum for so long maybe you have a blinkered view of things... I only knew UE existed just under two years ago and certainly didn't know this forum existed but I did see lots of articles of abandoned buildings in the newspapers.. Theres no getting away from the fact that it brings attention to a much larger audience.. whether that's right or wrong I don't know but I don't feel the view is idiotic.. The general public cannot stumble upon this forum when reading the daily news or checking the weather..

Clearly we will have to agree to disagree, I would rather share with like minded people were at all possible rather than in the tabloids but if you see differently then that's up to you

We have had this discussion a million times. You simply can't make the differentiation between all the verious ways of sharing your photos. Its either you share or you don't.

People only start wingeing once somone else gets more attention than they are getting it's just jealousy. Its got bugger all to do with anything else. We all found UE somehow and i don't begrudge others finding it now.
