im looking for a new camera as my compact doesnt seem to capture much light and only has 4 second shutter speed.

If i want a camera with the main purpose of night photography which things should i look out for and anyone got any reasonably cheap reccomendations

If you can stretch to a 450d, they're really good cameras, i loved mine and sold it recently for £400 but you could get them cheaper,
id definatley recommend it for night stuff aswell

I've done a few light painting images

On the side of the M1 :

this one was in daytime but i'd still class it as light painting

i did this one for a friend and if you havent guessed the sky obviously wasn't pink
