I would be too scared to be a customer, but you need to be a certain age to know fear. I live near Wrexham, and I am sure you know that there are rumours of huge underground tunnels. There have been dozens of postings on various sites, but no one seems to be able to give an answer. I remember reading a fantastic report on this site a few years ago about going through deep water in the dark, and then coming face to face with an otter. I think part of the route was the River Gwenfro which has quite a few trout on the sections that are visible above ground. I think the post must have been deleted/archived and cannot find it. Keep up the good work, and thanks for all the wonderful photos.

Proper bo I tell thee! I'm amazed that it opens up into a walkable tunnel. I remember doing some recce on this years ago and assumed it was st00py as fuck the whole way through.
Respect for persisting with this, although you need to go back and do it right to that flap! :D

Haha! I think a more workable solution would be to move the flap to shift some of the standing water and then try it from that end. I think we were close because following the route of the culverted brook on a map it turns a sharp corner before the final stretch and we had defo done that bit... More on my mind atm is a return to the don end of that other one we have both done before, but persisting further this time, past the yoghurt spiders...

You mean Car Brook? Yes, that was bothering me too, there is a huge section of culvert between there and Darnall, but what concerns me is the canal is in the way so it might sump under it at some point... which would explain the lack of airflow. Might be worth trying to track down a manhole near the upstream end, but that part of Sheff would require armed escort! :)
