So, Sunday night. Spent all day being a slob on COD, decided after tea I should probably sort my life out and get off the sofa. What to do? Oh yeah! My other hobby

let’s go exploring. SQUAD ASSEMBLE!
Visited with @Mat Joyce and 2 none members.

History

Can’t find much history online, so if anyone knows any, let me know and I’ll add it!

The 40-bed rehabilitation unit treated patients with acute illnesses who required further rehab before they returned home, or were placed into a care home.
The rehabilitation unit closed as part of a £6m savings review by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Trust. Closure was announced in January 2011, however unsure when it actually closed.
From what I have read it’s services will be transferred into a new specialist built hospital with all the services from this and Wesham Park hospital under one roof.

The explore

This was the creepiest explore I’ve done in a long while. From the outset the nosey neighbours and curtain twitchers had me on edge. Then there was the woman who slammed her gates after giving me a good coat of looking at.
After a good scout round the building, of course, the last door you check is the one that’s open. Now we had noticed cracks of light showing from behind the impressively tinned up windows and doors all around the building, and assumed maybe there was secca inside? However we weren’t prepared for what we were about to see.
We walked around the corner, set off 3 security lights and could hear a loud beeping. BOOM. An open door! And the bloody lights are on! There was fire alarm battery fault beeps and security alarm fault buzzers going off! Madness! But We’re in :)

There’s seriously nothing impressive in here at all. The hospitals newest part is in lovely condition apart from the graffiti and a small leak in the roof. You can really tell which is the older bit, it’s starting to show signs of age and decay.

Sadly I only had my phone with me as I really wasn’t hopeful on this one. So apologies for the shit pictures but really I just wanted to document this more than anything. Nothing was really photo worthy as such IMO.

Lovely Sunday night explore. This mixed with Last nights explore has made my weekend! I’d been feeling really low about exploring and not getting in where I wanted. And now I’m back on a winning streak! Anyway. Enough of me muttering to myself. Here’s my crappy photos enjoy!

Fairly clean that, would have been good if all the equipment was still hanging around. Nice one.
